A Women's Travel Forum and Blog.

Your place to have fun with Myrtle and JoJo, to tell us your travel story, to meet other women travelers, or to journey back in time to travel with a medieval queen and her faithful lady-in-waiting or solve medieval mysteries with Baba Chessy and her clever cat Bianca.

Traveling with Myrtle and JoJo

This section of the website is a blog about the travel experiences of Myrtle and JoJo, two fictional women “of a certain age” who have raised their families, finished their working careers, lost their husbands, and now decide to see the world together. Fortunately for us, they are intent on making their travel authentic and adventurous, which generates fun for us. The blog was born in 2016. | had returned from a three-week journey to the southern Caribbean and realized that | had by that time visited 103 different countries and had visited ten or twelve of those multiple times. The thought occurred to me that maybe it was time to give back, in some way, to the world of travel that had so enriched me.

Tell Us Your Travel Story

This section of the website is for you, a visitor to this site, to tell us your favorite travel story and connect with other women travelers if you wish to do that. If you have a favorite travel story, perhaps humorous, interesting, or inspiring, and would like to share it, this section is for you. If you welcome contact with other travelers, please include your email address with your story. All submissions must, of course, abide by the rules of professional communication: no offensive language, no off-color jokes, no insults, no comments about political or religious beliefs.

Time Travel

This section of the website is a magic carpet to take you to “faraway places with strange-sounding names.” Lady Nephele’s Devilry is one such magic carpet. I cannot guarantee that it has 1001 stories as did Scheherazade in the stories of One Thousand and One Nights, but it has so many stories of one fascinating period in the history of medieval Europe and the Balkans, that it may enchant you. The book was conceived in 1965 and finally brought into the world in 2022, having what may indeed be the longest gestation period of any book in history.
